Application:
Liquid Chlorine is used to sterilize bactericidal in the areas of production: domestic water, drinking water, industrial wastewater.... the mechanism of sterilization takes place as follows: Chlorine effect with water forming HOCl has a strong antiseptic effect. This antiseptic will diffuse through the cell crust of the organism, causing reaction to cell yeast, destroying the metabolic processes of microorganisms and destroying it.
-Liquid Chlorine is widely used in paper manufacturing (bleaching of crushed dough), dyes, food, pesticides, paints, petrochemical products, plastics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, solvents and many other consumer products.
Liquid Chlorine is used as a raw material to produce chlorate, chlorofom, carbon tetrachloride salts and in bromine extracts.
-In organic chemical industry: Chlorine is one of the raw materials for the production of VCM (Vinyl Chloride Monomer), which uses PVC composite.
The dangerous characteristic of chlorine gas is that only a very small dose of about 40 ÷ 60 ppm in the air is possible lethal, therefore:
-When inhalation of chlorine gas will be shocked, breathed, constant cough, headache, nausea, possible fainting. The concentration of chlorine gas allowed in air: ≤ 1 ppm.
Method of treatment: Bring the victim to a ventilated place, artificial respiration if the victim stops breathing. Keep the victim warm and if the victim is breathing. Try to reduce bouts of coughing by giving away cough or milk pills.
-When the skin is exposed to liquid chlorine is frostbite, cold burns, corroded.
Method of treatment: Immediately change the clothes wearing and bathing immediately after exposure to chlorine gas environment.
-Eye: Exposure to chlorine causes strong burning pain, the eye is blurred severe cases can cause blindness.
Method of treatment: immediately rinse thoroughly with water for 15 minutes, keep the eye open when washing, then urgently put to the facility with specialized examination and treatment.
-preserve:
Do not mix with strong bases, reducing agents and flammable substances. Preserving a cool dry place, well ventilated.
Best storage at a temperature of < 35oC.
-Transportation:
Use pressure-resistant steel containers to transport liquid chlorine to the destination.
